Gnocchi Baked with Creamy Tomato Sauce

Not really a classic dish, however I was reading about a chicken dish baked in a creamy tomato sauce, and thought it might be a great idea to use if for some gnocchi that needed eating up. The result was divine. I suppose cheese makes anything taste good. Well almost, I still haven’t found a cure for lima beans. Possibly napalm.

Ingredients:

1 One Pound Package of Pre-made Gnocchi
1 ½ Cups of tomato based pasta sauce
¼ Cup of heavy whipping cream (Not cool whip, seriously, no cool whip)
1/3 Cup of grated mozzarella
4 Tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese

Method:

Cook and drain the gnocchi according to the package directions. In a bowl mix the cream and the tomato sauce together, add the gnocchi and combine well. Spoon mixture evenly into four or five individual ramekins, top with the cheese and bake in a 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes until bubbly and browned. Remove from oven and cool for 4 minutes before serving or you may burn your mouth and that is not very pleasant for anybody especially those of us who have to listen to you whine about it for the next fortnight.

Garnish with a sprig of basil or parsley, if desired, and serve in ramekin on a plate with a doily or a napkin.
