MAKE IT: Breakfast Sausage Patties

Breakfast time is a great way to start the day off! On the weekends it is fun to do a little something extra when making breakfast and homemade sausage is a quick and simple way to do a little something extra! If your a fan if breakfast sandwiches, like we are shape patties on the large side for the perfect sandwich size!

Full time: 15-20 minutes
Makes 16 sausage patties or 8 sandwich size patties


You will need:

1 lb. ground turkey
3 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp dried chopped onion
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp fennel seeds
1/2 tsp dried sage
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper

Let us begin:

In a large bowl combine all ingredients.

Mix gently not to overwork meat but to fully incorporate seasonings.

Shape into either 16 balls or 8 balls.

Gently press down on ball to form patty.


If using today, heat 1-2 tbsp oil in pan and cook patty for 10-12 minutes. Flipping once to cook both sides.

If you want to freeze and save, wrap patties loosely in plastic cling wrap and place in refrigerator. Allow to sit for 4-6 hours.

Once patties are firm, wrap patties individually tightly in plastic cling wrap, store in freezer up to 30 days.
