Meringue Snowmen

Meringue Snowman

Just for fun, I decide to make these cute little snowmen today, since here in Texas there isn't much hope for snow or a real snowman

Don't get me wrong, its pretty cold as I write this post but the crazy Texas weather is about to change again and we will see temps of 75 F again this week, in December, ghah !

I do love meringues though, and have made a couple of varieties over the last summer with the always deliciously sweet pavlova and the yummy raspberry cream meringues

So lets get to it

Here's how to make these cute little guys

Makes 10

You will need

4 egg whites
8oz/225g Fine sugar

quarter pint Heavy whipping cream
chocolate drops & Candy Laces for decorating

  • First set oven to very low 110C/225F

  • Grease 3 baking trays, set aside

  • Whisk the eggs whites until fluffy and stiff

  • Slowly, gradually fold in the sugar, the mixture will turn glossy

  • Using a tablespoon, spoon 20 spoonfuls of mixture on tray (these will be the body)

  • Then using a teaspoon, spoon 20 spoonfuls of mixture on tray (these will be the head)
raw meringue

  • Put in oven for 2 hours, then turn oven off and leave the meringues in there until oven cools (about another hour)

  • Whip the cream up until stiff

  • Sandwich together the large shapes to make 10 bodies and the smaller shapes to make the heads

  • Use cream to cover the plate for the snowmen base to stand on, then use cream to fix the head on

  • Enjoy

Here is the closet we will get to snow here in Texas for Christmas, a girl can wish she was in Scotland ...
