HOW TO: Make Herbed Crackers

Herbed crackers are perfect for cheeses, spreads, meat trays, dips, or really anything you can put on a cracker. The reason herbed crackers are slightly better than plan crackers is: well the herbs. You can accompany any dish and enhance it's flavors using herbed crackers.

Perfect example are soups, combining a homemade soup with a complementary herb cracker is a winner! Herb crackers are easy to make, are quick, and most if all you can change the herb for every batch!

Full time: 15 minutes (includes cool time)
Makes 4 dozen crackers

You will need:

4 dozen or 2 sleeves Zesta (or Saltine) crackers
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh herb*

*Basil, Dill, Parsley, Cilantro, or Thyme
If using dried herbs use 3 tbsp in place of 1/4 cup

Let us begin:

Preheat your oven to 325 and line 2 cookie sheets with parchment paper.

Lay crackers on cookie sheets.

In a small bowl melt you butter in the microwave for 30-45 seconds or completely melted.

Stir in chopped herb and allow to wilt slightly.

Using a pastry brush, brush crackers with mixture evenly.

Bake in oven 5 minutes or until they get a slightly bit of golden brown showing.

Remove from oven and let sit for 1 minute.

Carefully pick up parchment paper( with crackers on it) and transfer to wire rack.

Let cool 5 minutes before serving or store for up to a week, enjoy!
